Seal Island Gun Club
Welcome to Seal Island Gun Club, A Challenging Clay Shoot in the Heart of West Sussex
Looking to elevate your clay shooting in a warm, competitive, and scenic environment? You’ve just found your shooting home.
Located in the heart of the West Sussex countryside, just minutes from the charming village of West Wittering, Seal Island Gun Club offers a truly exceptional clay pigeon shooting experience for shotgun certificate holders. Our members enjoy a 60-bird sporting layout that is varied, challenging, and refreshed regularly to keep each shoot exciting and rewarding.
We shoot twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Sunday mornings, with shooting commencing at 9:30am sharp. Shooters must be registered by 9:20am to take part—punctuality ensures we all enjoy a smooth, safe, and well-organised event.
Safety is at the absolute heart of everything we do at Seal Island Gun Club. We maintain the highest standards of firearm safety through rigorous protocols, experienced range officers, and a culture where safe gun handling is never compromised. Every shooter, whether a first-time visitor or seasoned member, receives a comprehensive safety briefing before taking part. Our experienced team is always on hand to guide newcomers through proper procedures, while our established shooters set the example through their unwavering commitment to safe practices. We believe that creating a secure environment where everyone feels confident and protected is essential for both enjoyment and performance—when you know safety is paramount, you can focus entirely on improving your shooting.
Beyond the shooting itself, Seal Island Gun Club fosters a genuine community spirit that welcomes everyone from seasoned competitors to those looking to improve their technique. Our members represent a diverse mix of abilities and backgrounds, united by a shared passion for the sport and a commitment to safety and sportsmanship. After each shoot, many members gather to share stories, discuss techniques, and enjoy the camaraderie that makes clay shooting such a rewarding pursuit.
A Friendly club with a great atmosphere!
What Makes Seal Island Special?
Seal Island Gun Club isn’t just about hitting clays. It’s about shared experiences, community, and good sportsmanship. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and supportive club, where experienced shooters of all backgrounds come together to enjoy the sport, test their skills, and take part in our club handicapped competitions, designed to level the playing field and encourage healthy, inclusive rivalry.
We also take our community responsibilities seriously, hosting an annual charity shoot to raise funds for local causes, and organising a number of social events throughout the year. Whether it’s chatting over coffee after a shoot, or celebrating at our end-of-year gathering, the club’s social spirit is as important to us as our shooting.
